Why Family?

fam·i·ly: a group of related persons going through life together

From the family that made you, to the family you make, a family is the foundation of your most important relationships in life.

What is Family Life Education?

Every family needs:

  • strong communication skills

  • understanding of ages and stages of life

  • good decision-making skills

  • positive self-image

  • healthy relationships

Family Life Education starts with your family’s unique experiences and knowledge and adds time tested and effective strategies to build confident, successful and loving families.

As a Certified Family Life Educator, Megan has met the nationally recognized standard in Family Life Education and has over a decade of academic knowledge and professional experience.

FLE is educational, preventative and empowering

How is Family Life Education different from therapy?

Family Therapy is education meant to REPAIR relationships while Family Life Education aims to EDUCATE in order to prevent relationships from needing repair. This strengths based approach focuses on what you are already doing well in your interpersonal relationships and adds additional knowledge and skills to improve well being. Ask questions, practice skills, take a class with family and friends and leave feeling motivated and empowered to make changes in your life and your most important relationships.

Is Family Life Education for me?

Family Life Education is for everyone.  Megan strives to provide a safe and inviting learning environment. Diversity in family life leads to creativity, open dialogue, broader perspectives and more. Understanding our individual difference and appreciating what makes our family unique is vital to growth.

Heart to Heart: Family Life Education will not discriminate based on age, ability, education, ethnicity,  gender identity or expression, race, relationships status, religion, or socioeconomic status. Heart to Heart: Family Life Education encourages diversity and seeks to enhance learning by creating an environment of openness, curiosity and respect for all differences.
